Food VS. Supplements – The “Great SUPPLEMENTS Debate” SOLVED!

For Safe Effective Supplements: athleanrx.com Supplements and sports supplements in particular are a very controversial and polarizing topic. Many natural food proponents will argue that bodybuilding supplements are just shy of food for the devil! Other bodybuilding supplement takers will vouch for their benefits and abilities to make getting gains in the gym easier and more convenient. I believe I sit somewhere in between. While not all supplements reviews are created equally (not by a long shot) I do believe there are some definite benefits that simply cannot be obtained through natural whole foods alone. Why? Watch this video and see just some of the reasons that make this so. Don’t get me wrong, a healthy nutrition and eating plan is an ABSOLUTE MUST and is non-negotiable when it comes to getting any kind of results from supplementation. If you think that you’re going to eat like crap and then just take sports supplements and undo all your nutrition mistakes you are sadly mistaken. On the other hand, if you are eating well and just can’t seem to get over the hump when it comes to getting that six pack to show or to finally get those muscles to break out of the rut they’ve been in for years, then supplements, the right muscle building supplements may be just what you need to do that. From creatine to kre-alkylin to protein powder (whey protein and casein protein) ALA, HMB, HICA, beta alanine, glutamine, BCAA’s, etc…the right supplements taken at the right time can

not that i massively disagree that supplements can be useful for those trying to bulk up massively. I’m fairly sure that athletes in the 1920 olympics managed to get fit, toned and healthy without supplements lol.

  3. dansbling says:

Cant you just take a multi-vitamin?

  4. TheNubbbler says:

    Walnuts: 10g Omega-3 per serving.
    Salmon: 4g Omega-3 per serving
    You don’t need to supplement.

  5. Jobother says:

If you want to get bulked up for bragging rights u must go for the supplements
But if you want to be healthy and muscular u would have to go for a whole food diet
Whole foods have healthy doses of what ur body needs and they also have nutrients that keep your cardiovascular, Immune, and muscular systems working at their best. The supplements can’t do that.

to lean down and feel physically rock hard and mentally more balanced and satisfied i just eat whole foods. Now to get massive, gain weight and trying to swell up for bragging rights i go for the whey protein shakes and creatine. For the long term i would just stick to whole foods. Fck the supplement industry.

Jeff, I’m not an advocate for either a non-supplement diet or a supplement reliant diet. Instead I am someone who employes critical thinking to come to my own conclusions. If you say that everyone who states you don’t need supplements, states this and then runs away, I present to you this opportunity:

Please site the peer reviewed scientific studies that conclude with the recommended dosages you are putting forward.

I encourage everyone to do their own research into supplements.

  11. PandaOnPot says:

  12. Josephalexbarnes says:

so how did man get hench before supplements? HMMMM xD

  13. TraceurCMann says:

hmm good info bro. I’m just curious, do you not get protein from when you get the creatine from beef? So technically you wouldn’t actually need to eat ALL that meat in one day right? But nevertheless I agree with you that supplements are necessary…I personally used to take some Whey protein shakes b/c I wasn’t getting anywhere near enough protein in my diet..in fact I need some right now :

  14. sageSPH says:

I’ve been working out for over a year now, and I’ve gotten very far with just a consistent regimen and a nutritious meal plan. The only supplements I’ve ever taken were protein supplements and I only took those for about a month. However, I have a question, Jeff. Without supplements, can I expect to plateau eventually, or am I just one of those fortunate people who don’t have much trouble building muscle? Should I spend money on supplements?

    Thanks for the workouts,
    SPH

  15. shurdawg says:

    @clearasil11 word bro.

  16. clearasil11 says:

I don’t take this stuff seriously enough to spend money of all sorts of supplements. I just utilize a healthy all-round diet and I’m doing good so far…

  17. MrStingray1111 says:

My thing is are these recommendations of these doses of supplements overkill I think so. Is a diet of whole foods enough yes. Plus how many things has science not discovered yet that we can get in a rich whole food diet.

  18. Galley415 says:

Plus after all 10 pounds of food that you just put in your stomach you will still need to add more to that load for vitamins and minerals that weren’t available just through meat

  19. Dacewolves says:

You are great man. Just go ahead!

  23. rameyes says:

  24. 20718966 says:

I agree with him…but it still depends on body type..

  25. Cornbreadddd says:

Why is the last thing protein. That doesn’t really make sense considering you would have way over even 300 grams of protein just based on the beef and fish that you already mentioned if consumed.
